People often want to gain new skills, improve the quality of life in their community, have fun, meet new people, influence, change, or help people. Studies on volunteerism report that all of those things benefit not only the places or organizations one volunteers in, but also the volunteer themselves. In Guymon, we have many opportunities to volunteer, and all organizations report volunteer numbers are down. This is a weekly series on our community volunteer opportunities and those who participate in the hopes of inspiring more to join the movement.
