Washington, DC; The Pentagon – On April 1, 2016, J. Dale Hallagin, U.S. Air Force, was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel at the U.S. Air Force Memorial overlooking the Pentagon and Washington DC. Hallagin, the son of the late J. Arnold Hallagin and Joyce Hallagin of Guymon, joined the Air Force in 1988 under the delayed enlistment program after his junior year at Guymon High School. He served for 12 years as an enlisted Airman before graduating with his Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University. In 2001, Hallagin was commissioned as a 1st Lieutenant and served as communications officer at Barksdale AFB, LA and Cheyenne Mountain AB, CO; then as an instructor at Maxwell AFB, AL. Following instructor duty, he completed a graduate degree in Military Operational Art and Science. After spending 7 months of 2015 in Afghanistan, Hallagin returned to his current duty station at The Pentagon in Washington, DC with the Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration Division of the Air Staff. Hallagin lives in Northern Virginia with his wife Amy, daughter of Harold & Debbie Tyson of Guymon, and their 3 children, Malory, Casady and Wyatt.
